Vincent E. Bauer

 

Vincent E. Bauer is the firm’s principal attorney. With more than 25 years of experience handling New York employment and discrimination matters, Mr. Bauer is a seasoned litigator and negotiator who represents his clients on a full range of New York employment law matters. He represents clients in a wide variety of employment-related litigations and disputes under federal, state, and local laws. He practices in federal and state courts, before state, federal, and local agencies, and in other administrative forums. He also represents clients in arbitrations, mediations, and other non-judicial dispute resolution matters.

Mr. Bauer counsels and represents clients on all facets of the employment relationship, including hiring, performance, and discharge issues, workers’ compensation issues, compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing the workplace, and other workplace-related personnel issues. He has extensive experience negotiating and documenting employment, severance, non-competition, and other types of employment-related agreements. He provides anti-harassment and non-discrimination training, and he is regularly retained to investigate and handle employee complaints.

Mr. Bauer was named a Super Lawyer in 2011 and again from 2013-2021. He is a member of the New York Bar and is admitted to practice in the federal courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and all New York state courts.

Before starting his own firm, Mr. Bauer was Vice President and Employment Counsel at the international advertising agency Young & Rubicam, Inc., and he was counsel to the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

He is a graduate of Harvard College and Fordham University Law School.

Barbara Meister Cummins

Barbara Meister Cummins is counsel to the firm. She has been practicing employment law for more than 30 years and represents employers in a full range of employment-related legal matters, including hiring, performance evaluation, termination and layoffs, reduction in force issues, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing the workplace. She has negotiated and documented many employment, severance, and other employment-related agreements. She represents clients in discrimination, harassment, and affirmative action matters. She has also conducted a wide variety of training programs related to the workplace.

Ms. Cummins was a Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel and Employment Counsel for the international advertising agency Young & Rubicam, and she was an associate at the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

She is a member of the bars of New York and Colorado, and she is admitted to practice in the federal court for the Southern District of New York and the state courts of New York and Colorado.

Ms. Cummins is a graduate of Columbia University Law School, The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (from which she received an MBA), and Dartmouth College.
